How to Get rid of Dull Skin and Dark Marks

Believe it or not, your current skin condition has a large impact on your personality, emotions and most importantly, - your self esteem. We all know and would probably agree that we tend to find the people with the higher self esteem to be more confident and even more attractive...It is just human nature to think that way. So what if you're suffering with trying to get your skin in the most perfect condition, but you find out that you've only managed to wast a lot of money on products that promise to get your skin in the most tip top form, - yet such products always fail to deliver on their promises because you still have acne, dull skin, acne marks, wrinkles e.t.c.

I Don't Believe That Just Because A Product Is Expensive That it Necessarily Works!

If you don't know me, I try to be as frugal as I can when it comes to finding solutions to products that actually work. I usually like to do my research first, especially if the product is a valued at a more premium price. Now I am not saying I only buy cheap products alone, because believe me, buying cheap products that do not work is just as bad a waste of money as buying expensive products that do not work! What I believe in, is buying the best products that do the best job!

My Freshman Year of College

In my freshman year of college, I used to break out more often than just that one pimple every month. Perhaps it was due to the stress of being out on my own for the very first time =) - Anyways the breakouts left me with some post breakout marks, to say the least it was devastating to go from having even toned skin, to having marks here and there! I couldn't use Proactiv, because it irritates my skin to no end, it sting and makes my skin VERY irritated

Mistakes I made:

I literally turned to wearing heavy foundation to try and cover up my newly uneven toned skin. Caking on foundation at all times took a toll on my skin- as a matter of fact, my skin condition worsened!

I turned to doing my own research and ...

1) I found out that I had oily skin to begin with, and I was using the wrong products for my skin! I was using products made for normal skin which tended to make my skin even oilier and thus contributed to more breakouts.

2) I was not drinking enough water (at least 8 glasses a day!). Water helps your body flush out all the toxins, you may find yourself breaking out more if you don't drink enough water to cleanse yours system and balance everything out.

3) I was using waaaaaaaay too many skin care products that were irritating my skin and causing me to break out in zits! Finally I discovered the importance of having a simple skin care routine!

4) I only use 3 products MAX! My skin has improved so tremendously, that even my dad (who has no clue as to skin care ) says my skin glows!!

I make sure to use the Bare Escentuals primer (for oily skin), it acts as a barrier between my skin and the foundation (pores will absorb less of the foundation). I find I don't break out with this method! I also make sure to use a toner after I wash my face, whenever I am wearing foundation for the day!

There it is! Simple as 1-2-3 to clear and brighter skin!

So What products Do I use on my skin ?

To wash my face everyday, I use:

• Cetaphil Face Wash (you can find this at the drugstore for a good bargain!)
  

To exfoliate ( I only exfoliate twice a week) , I use :

• Garnier Nutrise Microbead Cream Scrub, it won't tear your skin or irritate. The best by far!
  

For a moisturizer, I use:

• Philosophy Hope In a Jar oil free moisturizer (normal-oily skin)
  

The Philosophy hope in a jar is the key to my skin looking soooo smooth, best of all, it doesn't break me out like the other moisturizers used to! Except from the one pimple once a month, my breakouts are long gone! I also did get a peel, so my skin tone is very even right now, best of all, my skin no longer looks dull and tired as it used to when I broke out often !
